Gather outside Eichardt’s Private Hotel and in Earnslaw Park to watch as 2024 is brought in with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night.

A celebration with live music, entertainment, food and sensational fireworks displays over Lake Wakatipu, lighting up the sky and welcoming us into another year.

Since 2014, the Championship has transformed into an enthralling pro-am experience. Professionals not only compete for the prestigious New Zealand Open title but also join forces with amateurs in a thrilling best-ball tournament, all for the coveted New Zealand Pro-Am Championship.

Motatapu -2 March 2024

Held in one epic day, Motatapu welcomes thousands of athletes, big and small, to experience one of New Zealand’s off-road sporting events.  

Returning on March 2, 2024, with six iconic races; the 47km Mountain Bike Race, 15km Miners Trail, 42km Off-Road Marathon, 56km Coronet Loop Mountain Bike, 52.5km Ultra Run and the 4km Junior Trail Run. 

With a large focus on sustainability, the team at Motatapu actively support Mahu Whenua philosophy for sustainable development and supports a regenerative local economy, events and tourism industry.
